As an educational institution, JCKL Academy, Inc. collects personal information primarily for educational
purposes of the students which includes monitoring academic activities as well as extracurricular activities
of students. This also includes information collected for purposes set out in the privacy statements
contained in the documents filled out by the parents/students. Such information is allowed to be
processed and used by authorized school personnel for such purposes.
Only those with an official reason for doing so may gain access to the information. The school must retain
such information no longer than is necessary for the specified purposes for which it was given. It will
retain personal data until the fulfilment of its purpose. All records after such period will be duly and
securely disposed of.
In this regard, it is the policy of the school to uphold data privacy rights, and ensure that all data collected
from students, parents/guardians, employees and other third parties, are processed pursuant to the
general principles of transparency, legitimate purpose and proportionality as provided by Republic Act No.
10173, otherwise known as the “Data Privacy Act of 2012”.
A. TRANSPARENCY
Data Subject’s consent (student’s consent) should be obtained before collecting the information and the
latter should be informed of the purpose for which the information is to be collected.
In the enrolment process, students are required to fill out the online official enrolment form. The
purpose of such collection of information is stated in the said form and the consent of the
parent/student is obtained through the form which is filled out by the parent/guardian/student.
B. PROPORTIONALITY
Personal Information collected must be reasonably necessary or directly related to the school functions
In the application for admission as a student of JCKL Academy, only information such as name,
birthdate, address, contact numbers, previous schools, parent’s or guardian’s name, etc. which
are necessary for the evaluation for eligibility for admission to the school are collected.
Only the necessary amount of information required to provide an adequate service will be
gathered and stored.
C. FOR LEGITIMATE PURPOSE
In collecting personal information, the school shall use the information only for legitimate purposes. Data
relating to individuals will only be processed in a manner consistent with the purpose it is intended.
Personal information such as student’s name, parents name and addresses and contact
numbers, etc., shall be used only for purposes such as enrolment process, academic activities
and availment of student services.
The school’s data protection policy applies to the personal data collected and such data will be stored
securely, so that confidential information is protected in compliance with the Data Privacy Act of 2012.
All employees, students and administration officers are enjoined to comply with and to share in the
responsibility to secure and protect personal information collected and processed by the school in pursuit
of legitimate purposes.
The school in keeping with good practice of maintaining complete records, may choose to keep your
personal data as long as necessary to the extent required by law, for the fulfillment of its legitimate
purposes. When retention is no longer necessary for purposes of which it was collected, all records after
such period will be duly and securely disposed of.
